Submissions
The Big Care Write-Up is yet again seeking new writing talent from across the globe to submit short stories for its latest charity anthology eBook, "Telling Tales".
This time the anthology will feature stories with the theme of "myths and legends in reality". For the sake of this anthology, you can be inspired by any of the following: myths, legends, fairytales or folk tales. However, all of the action must take place in reality - that is, all aspects of your interpretation must be at least theoretically possible. With this in mind, you should try and keep fantasy elements to a minimum. For example, what would happen to Little Red Riding Hood came face to face with a real wolf out to kill her?

There are initially 10 slots available for new writers. These will be allocated to the writers whose ideas show the most potential and you will be contacted directly about the next stage. Further slots may be made available as required.
This anthology will be raising money for LOROS Hospice (Registered Charity No. 506120).

LOROS Hospice is one of Leicester's local charities and every year they care for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They provide free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers. For more information, please visit www.loros.co.uk

Below is the criteria for all submissions for this anthology:
-
First of all you should submit a 500 word (maximum) outline of the idea you wish to write, detailing what myth or legend has inspired your story, with a brief description of the action within your story from beginning to end.
-
If this is your first time submitting to The Big Care Write-Up, you should include a sample of your previous work, but not the story you wish to write for the anthology.
-
If selected, you will be required to write your story in 1,500 to 1,750 words maximum. Stories that are significantly over or under this word count, or which stray significantly away from the brief, may still be rejected.
-
There will be no limit to the number of outlines one author can submit and no limit to the amount of stories by one author that can be chosen and included in the final anthology.
-
All short stories must be your own work and must not have been previously published elsewhere.
-
Every outline that you submit must be sent in a separate email, with the subject being just your name and the title of your proposed story, to Dale Anthony Church at submissions.bigcarewriteup@gmail.com
-
The closing date for all outline submissions is Wednesday 31st May 2017. No submissions will be accepted after this date.
-
Every author who submits a story must also agree to and abide by our Submission Guidelines.
